Took a ride in a 356 for the first time

I have one question for you guys; What am I supposed to grab on to, as the passenger?

I felt like a eight year old boy again in my uncles 56 Vette, except my uncle's car had a grab bar across the glovebox/dash.

Just which one of these little bolt on's will keep me from sliding around the seat?

It was a lot of fun, and that's from stepping out of a 1977 911S.

That nice bar right by the glove box should work... I think my finger impressions are still there from when Dad picked me up at camp in N. Carolina and we did the Blueridge Pkwy "at speed"

Yea, that one worked best.

Got me to thinking, were these Max Hoffmann add on's?

Did the European models have the passenger grab bars?

Dunno. I have one of the last Karmann Cs made (222522, 222580 was the last) and it had the oh ***** handle there when dad bought it new from a dealer down in Tampa. Once nice addition to mine is that Dad's first wife was a professional seamstress for the university's theater - so she hand wrapped the steering wheel and grab handle in really nice black leather. Still not a bit of looseness in the wrappings either.

Hey Kach22i, what color is that car. Turkish Red is a possibility but, I'm going to need a paint job when my body work is done and I don't want to guess.

I suggest you e-mail or PM "barry2952" to find out the color of the car. He purchased it from someone in Hawaii off of an e-bay auction a few moths ago. Great guy that loves cars - might help if you tell him exactly where to look on the car for the color code.

The car seems to have had a total restoration, was like new inside and underside. No guarantee this is the original color, but it sure looks like it could be.

Link to a thread that barry2952 was in (to PM):

Continental vs. Porsche, 1955 battle over the name "Continental"
