Camber and toe changes

I wanted to get a visual idea of why the 914’s semi-trailing arm suspension isn’t as good as the more modern double wishbone or multilink setups on newer cars like the Miata or Solstice so I did some calculations to graph how the wheel plane changes as the 914’s rear suspension moves. Here’s a 1.6 mb zipped folder with 47 pictures showing how the wheel plane changes as the right-rear semi-trailing arm sweeps from 45 degrees below horizontal to 45 degrees above horizontal. The change is exaggerated a little because I used a trailing arm length of 10 inches when it should have been closer to 20.
