Fitting Adapter Unions - Help~!!
I have been unable to identify which fitting adapter unions - that are available - will mate with my fuel line ends.
I have designated as Types A, B and C for this purpose: I've just about completed an 80 SC CIS to EFI conversion. This included a conversion to a Carrera (84) manifold and fuel rail, among others. I've deleted the SC fuel accumulator and now I need to: 1. Get from the Fuel Pressure Hard line (this is the hard line that runs from the back of the plastic tunnel line up to the (bottom) inlet of the fuel filter, 2. Get from the fuel filter (top) outlet to the manifold intake Hose Fitting 3. Get from the Fuel Return Hard line (this is also a hard line that runs from the back of the plastic tunnel line up to the manifold return line fitting So, here is my take on those needs: 1. Adapter Fitting Needed: Fuel Pressure Hard (Tube) Line to Fuel Filter (bottom) Inlet: a. The end of the hard tube line is flared with an attached loose swivel nut ![]() b. The bottom of the Fuel Filter is a 14mm straight thread > I have the standard Porsche adapter union that goes there (930.110.198.00): 14mm straight thread with sealing washer to 14mm straight thread with flare receptacle which is no help at this point 2. Adapter Fitting Needed: Fuel Pressure Line: From Fuel Filter (top) Outlet to Manifold a. The top of the Fuel Filter is a 12mm straight thread > I have the standard Porsche adapter union that goes there (930.110.199.00): 12mm straight thread with sealing washer to 16mm straight thread with flare receptacle which is no help at this point b. The manifold fuel pressure Inlet is the standard outlet domed or ball nose end with loose swivel nut > This is the standard Porsche hose assembly # 930.110.509.00 ![]() 3. Hose Needed: Fuel Return Line: From Fuel Return Hard (Tube) Line to Manifold > This would take the place of Porsche # 911.356.089.01 a. The end of the hard tube line is flared with an attached loose swivel nut (Type A per attached photo) b. The manifold fuel return outlet is a 14mm straight thread flare receptacle ![]() c. The hose needs to be about 16 inches Total (Over All) Length >>> Alternatively: an adapter to mate 2 Type C end fittings could be used with Porsche hose 911.356.089.01 <<< Mating Ends – attached photo: ![]() Where I note above ‘flare receptacle’, I mean for the ‘domed’ type ending fittings. SO, some help - please: After checking all of the fitting adapter union supplier's I could find, I still can find the union adapters that will do what I need. Any ideas? Thanks~! Jim

All the fittings I've bought from them have mated perfectly with the Porsche lines. Some of the fittings can be expensive not to mention the braided line you'd need.

I've looked (and Looked) and pondered (and Pondered) and I don't see and can't determine which of the fittings (including BAT's) will do what I'm after...

Not much help but I'm in the same boat...
I'm also looking for a hose to connect the fuel return line from the manifold to the one coming from the "chassis". On mine, both ends are a male fittings a.k.a. your type C ones. So, these are "standard" 14mm flare ends?

3 b, is available at batinc.net 14m female to dash whatever hose end you need.
2 a, if you use that adaptor then it's just like a carrera filter top. also available at BAT, 16 or 14 is also available for that to dash whatever hose end. Im confussed about the bottom of the filter. The hard line doesnt mate up with the filter? The bottom of a carrera filter is female. Is the bottom of a SC filter male? either way BAT has 14 and 16 male and female. the carrear rails are 16 and the m16 female to dash 6 hose ends from Bat are nice. I redid all my lines with bat fittings and -6 line. Search my name and there's a long list of carrera fittings, the difference being the different filter fittings. A carrera filter comes with all 16m fittings. so maybe to answer your q's, 1, use your adapter to mate up with stock SC filter. if the top is 14 then use a m14 from BAT to hose end and two m16 for the two rail connections. Exiting the rail at the back of the drivers side is a m14 But you have the SC return line. I doubt there is an m14 female to m14 male adapter. So make up a short line of -6 with the correct ends/adapters to mate up, OR get the stock return line for carrera which is back ordered forever or NLA Are you more confused? |

Thanks Jerry - I'll be taking a look at your suggestions in detail, shortly.
In the meantime, as regards the bottom of the filter - that is a confusing deal: The filter I currently have is the SC filter, which has 14mm straight threads, which Normally runs VIA the adapter union # 930.110.198.00 To the pipe that runs to the fuel accumulator. That adapter union has male 14mm straight threads on one end, and the other end has 'reverse flare' or receptacle for the ball nose (Type C above) fitting end. I could easily use a Carrera filter instead of the SC filter: just need to get one - would that simplify things, at all? More, please?

it should, then you'd just need a jumper for the bottom to your SC pressure line and a jumper for the return from the manifold to the hard line. Does this make sense?
to go from manifold return carrera to SC hard line return this will work (i think) 1, male m14x1.5 to male -6 hose adapter 1, -6 straight hose end. six inches, or howeverlong of -6 hose. 1 , female m14x1.5 to -6 hose end IF the hard line return, the one going down has a flat face ask the guy at BAT I think his name is Eric, they have flat convex and concave one's. I just ordered a buch of stuff there yesterday for another FPR inline at the return(s) So I know they have all this. If you make up this hose it's a good spot for a pressure gauge.
