Rear spolier with brake light
Driving behind another 911 SC last week I noticed that the brake lights are not very clear to traffic driving behind an SC...combine that with their better stopping power....I am sure that this will help.
Does anyone have experience with this? How do the wires run and where do you tap into the electrics...? Also any idea what the part is called at Pelican could not really find that. All opinions welcome. Michel ![]() |

the wires run inside the window seal I think looks good.
I don't think PP sales the rear wing spoiler but e-mail Wayne to ask about it.

The part from Performance Pirates is not a very good part. The fit is not what you'd expect it to be as it doesn't contour the roof line very well.

I've been looking at this same spoiler, just for the third brake light. Everyone says they don't fit well so now I'm wondering about putting led's in the rear "vent" area above the rear glass. Any one have ideas for this?

How about a stock one from a newer 911? Should be some used ones floating around out there. I've seen them top and bottom mounted on various years, so I'm not sure what Porsche did when. My '89 is top mounted.

Guys, thanks,
The idea of the led lights in the top air vents is pretty neat. Pal can you share some photos' or thoughts with us? A photo with the break light working would also be nice. I bet you can manage that by yourself if your fast enough out of the car ![]() The spoiler I posted is available through FVD (www.fvd.de) german manufacturer, but as everything with them bloody expensive 495€ that is 650 USD. It is special for SC and Carrera. It really is unobtrusive and makes the car look clean while adding some safety... I have one offering me a 993 kinda spoiler. Any idea if that fits? No joy in locating this piece at Pelican. Anyway, if I do install it I will do a write up with pictures. Michel |

Maybe shorten one of these and run it at the top edge of the window? Too bling? I had one on a custom pickup years ago, it not only acts as a brake light it acts as turn signals too. NO clue how to make it happen or if it would even work on a 911.

Michel,
Thanks. The window does not need to come out. However, I have a sunroof and a headliner with a zipper so I can access the vent area from inside the car. Small hands help! I spliced into the existing third brake light wiring and added small bulb sockets, six each side if I remember right (every other vent opening). The red lens is cut from some aftermarket lens material. The lenses are then glued in place from the inside. A somewhat tedious project, but I like the looks and function. Dan

Also very nice Randy, now that we are on the subject of posting picture, could you post one with a side view of your car? Nothing to do with brake lights ;o)
