2006 A3 3.2 A/C question

I fee like the A/C is pretty slow to blow cool air compared to other cars. I put one of those cheap gauges on it today after letting it cool for a few minutes and got 35 psi at an ambient temp of about 80 degrees. Does this sound right?

Once the air starts cooling it does blow cold- it just seems to take forever to blow cold.

May have a compressor on its way out. Some good info from a poster below:

Quote:

I had the A/C in my wifes A3 replaced 3 times COMPLETELY all 3 times under the CPO Warranty. The system taking awhile to cool is a key indicator that the compressor is starting to go so I would have it fixed now as mentioned above the metal contamination results in your requiring a new Dryer, etc and increases the cost by another $ 600.00.

You can usually take a look at the compressor and determine which one you have as there is one in particular that was defective from factory. I know Audi had a TSB out on the Compressor for awhile.
