1. Locate the mechanic you will use.
2. Know the seller's motivation for selling.
3. See the maintenance records. Check the tire date of manufacture.
4. Get a pre-purchase inspection done. (You pay for the PPI, you choose the mechanic, you see a sample of the forms he uses to guide the inspection, seller gets a copy of the results too, you buy at the agreed upon price if there are no big issues found. Should include oil filter inspection.)
5. The IMS is good on 2006-2008 cars, not perfect but then what part is. If you do the clutch, plan to remove the seal from the IMS bearing at the same time.)
6. Enjoy the car, wonderful out in the open spaces and with your speed limits.
