You are right - these all really suck. I'll probably use them for cleaning parts and getting stains off the driveway.

Get yourself east of Inverness into Speyside. A little town called Rothes has two distilleries, Glen Grant and Glen Rothes. You might find those to your liking. Or, if you're headed up to the Orkney Islands, stop at Clynelish, in a little town called Brora, about an hour north of Inverness. 8 years in Bourbon casks, four years in sherry.
I really don't care for the peaty taste of the western isles stuff most days, but you could drop the Talisker off as you're flying past Nova Scotia.
