I believe that the sunroof was a 'sunroof add' not a 'sunroof delete.' The sunroof was actually Porsche option #650 which was almost 2 grand.
My take on RSAs that have a sunroof, AC, etc, etc are just expensive 964s. I never got on the bandwagon that these RSAs with all the added crap were anything but a marketing scheme. Why would you order a RSA with all the stuff anyway?
But people did - a lot of people did. And they still thought they had something cool and special. The damn thing came stock with electric windows.
I believe the market really does not care if it has a sunroof, if it has AC, or a radio, or a spare. I believe the market feels the same of any RSA - lower miles the better. Not autocrossed or tracked the better.
The intent was to make a 964 connection to the original RS. The idea was to make a lightweight version of the Carrera 2 - but all they did was make a Carrera 2. Heck, you could order a Carrera 2 with less options and it would be the same.
If you are looking for a collectible 964 that's great. And if you are looking at a RSA I would buy a low-mileage example.
