Hmmm....
McManus was from my home state, (And lived in the PNW) and since my home state is more of an outpost than a mecca, any brush with fame or celebrity was a cause for celebration, thus, his books were always reviewed prominently in the newspaper. (And he was funny AF, so even better!!)
Loved Carl Kassel. Wish I would have been lucky enough to have his voice on my home answering machine.
