1978 for me. Riding a Kawasaki KZ1000P....The only year with the windshield mounted to the forks instead of the frame.
Slowing down from triple digit speeds on a lonely section of freeway with a moderate cross wind. Get down to about 85 and a terrible tank slapper that would put me down. Only solution was to speed up again and try re-entry all over again. Did this 3 times and no love. I finally figured I needed more weight over the front wheel.
I leaned way forward and hit front brake for weight transfer. It worked. I stayed up....
