I don't think Charles is the big topic of idolization in the UK.. not him.
the Queen, sure, William, sure, Harry
But Charles?? He might have the odd old confused lady that had a crush on him back when she was young, but for the most part he's not that popular. definately not since Diana died and even less since he married Camilla.
And so why would the Queen not be supported loved, respected?
She's been a symbol of Britishness and served her people for a very long time..
It's not exactly a job with much freedom or real world power.
William flew Search and Rescue for the RAF and then for the Ambulance serive.
He didn't have to for the money, but he did it, and donated his salary to the Ambulance service.
And look at Harry, he went and served in cognito in Afghanistan, and all the British veterans love him for what he's done for them (like the Invictus games), they see him as one of their own..
Now look at who is being idolized in the US, and what money and lifestyle those people lead.
You guys have your own kind of "royalty", I doubt they do as much service over their lifespan.
Football players ? basketball players? Rappers with all them bling ?
How does their service to their country stack up against that of QE's service for hers?
Personally I wouldn't wanna live in a golden cage like that, where every minute of your day is under scrutiny.
