Everybody thinks that you need a monster 3/4 ton diesel to tow anything larger than a 4x8 utility trailer. When we bought our new boat, I had a number of "you're going to tow that with your F150" questions. My F150 is stock rated to tow 11,500 lbs, and I've made a number of upgrades beyond stock. It tows my estimated 8,000 lb worth of boat and trailer without any issues, our trip home was through the hilly Ozark Mountains of central MO at 70 MPH and it never skipped a beat.
