Hey I did a little research for you and
found this thread with some useful information.
Remove one front and one back wheel and get the date code and size off the backs.
According to that thread, these were a 'comfort' option as the smaller wheel allows for a bigger tire and thus a softer ride. Someone restoring an early 912 may be interested in them.
