Got it, Motion, about the tub.

I start with a tub that has a tile in flange to keep water flowing back into the tub, not self rimming one or top mount. Built a half wall, about 3'6" tall, on the toilet side for a little more privacy but I like as much open feel as possible so maybe the glass can start from the edge of the tub. With the Pony wall (half wall) at 3'6", there's enough height to install the shower control without leaning down breaking your back every time you go and turn on the water. Run the shower head on the opposite wall or out from the ceiling, same I did for Jim or many of my clients. At first, they question me thinking it looks funny. That's because they are not used to seeing it that way but after using it a few times, they always understand the reasoning behind it and love it. When you go and turn on the shower you don't ever have to run for cover because the shower head is on the other side. The fill spout will come out the center of the long wall. The edge of the tub is about 3-4" and the fill spout is usually 7-8". The fill spout is always out of the way. It will looks great. The shower door will have to hinge on the right side but it will swing both directions.


It looks like you have a 36" wide tub there? You aren't keeping that old tub, right? No way to get a frame less shower on there.
