Are you buying watch parts from ebay or all of the cheap watches that you can find from garage/yard/rummage sales or...? What are you using to glue the stuff on? Are you going to coat/paint it with a clear or something when you get done? It would be great if you could do a kind of thick clear resin/epoxy over the whole thing, to protect it and make it easier to clean/dust.
$20 would about cover the glue. Even if you supplied parts we’d be making 10 cents an hour. We buy old watches by the pound on eBay and get some at garage sales. We sort them then and put the good ones in a vise one at a time to distort the case so we can pry the back off. Then pry out the works with the face hopefully intact. Super glue the hands to the face and pry the face off of the movement. The faces are attached to the movement with four tiny pins that have to be ground off with a Dremel. Then we find a spot where it will fit and use Mrs WD’s jewelry making tools to form it to fit the contour of the body. We atttach whole faces with RTV and small pieces with super glue. Every piece takes at least 15 minutes and sometimes half an hour.
