Yup, some one lied with this car, but not this seller.
The 356 I bought was described as an original paint accident free car by the owner, I drove 200 miles to find out it was not, I still bought the car for a much reduced amount. I was not mad at the owner as they honestly did not know and it had been in the family for over 45 years. They had paper work showing the repaint by the Porsche dealer in 1965 ($118 for the dealer to full repaint a 356), they obviously never read their own paper trail.
I have come to the conclusion a lot of people have no clue what their car really is.
Ignorance really is bliss for most owners.
Now with the cars so valuable people look a lot closer than in the past and pull these skeletons out of the closet.
