Don't get me started on Vatican City.
Bestowed upon me not that long ago was an invite to Vatican City. Did the ceiling, of course. St. Peter's. The Vatican catacombs.
Though not in Rome, I actually swooned. Yep swooned when I realized my presence included a very, very early frescoe by Michelangelo.
Anyway, The Church has always been cognizant of so-called 'modern' art. There are some very interesting things displayed in the narrow halls of the Vatican labyrinthe on your way to the Cistine Chapel.
