40 years. Sheesh, I am old.
I'll always forget going to see "Up In Smoke" for the first time, because like everyone in the audience (except Sgt. Stedenko), my eyes were bleeding from the pre-function before we went in.....
I've seen it many times, since. Every scene a classic. Cheech Marin polishing his short with his beanie while War plays "Low Rider" in the background....The vodka in the Judges water glass... The van rocking at the line to get in the show while the woman is yelling "ffuuuuu mmeeeeee..." the skank doing bumps of cleanser.... Good times and so much a part of the times....
I was in grade school when "Big Bambu" came out. My friends and I could crack each other up with just a couple of well-chosen words from those memorable routines.
C&C became part of the soundtrack of that young, impressionable life.
