It's just my opinion, but dog parks aren't the greatest place for a dog. It's a good place for a dog to catch another dog's disease/parasites or for a dog to get in a fight with another dog that is not well socialized.

Good points. I like the park for the exercise factor, but I get what you are saying. She loves people but is a bit of a wild card around other dogs. She's a jumper and her brakes don't work great so we need to work on that.
My son found her at what the vet thought was about 9 months old, no known history prior. Texas is unfortunately a dumping ground of sorts for dogs. Lot's of military at his base will pick up and move and abandon their animals. Shelters there are shipping dogs to the PNW and other areas to get adopted out.
