Thanks for all the condolences The only injury I sustained was a burnned finger and a broken heart. The hardest part was watching her burn while waiting an hour for the fire truck.
SoCal I told him you were avalible and to call you for information he didn't so now I find myself here live and learn huh.
yeah we have dirt and dead grass I had to put out about four small grass fires around my car from the hood insulation falling off while burnning.(That would have just been icing on the cake being charged with starting a couple hundred acre grass fire)
The car held the fire in the engine compartment well I don't think the fire ever went passed the firewall and it burnned for at least 45 min. and possibly for over an hour before the volunteer fire department showed up.
I hope he stands by his work(thats why they carry insurance right???) if not I guess I'll be seeing him in court and doing the work myself from now on. At least then it would have been my fault for the fire and I could kick myself not pebbles.
GET A FIRE EXTINGUISHER FOR YOUR CAR PEOPLE! I think I could have put the fire out with even the little bottle. Or at least left a little evidence to show how the mechanic screwed up as it is it's just melted metal.
The volunteer fire fighters who put out the fire said that brake/clutch fluid caused the fire.
The local fire marshal who looked at it where it is in the mechanics lot said the fire started by the firewall and came forward but that was all he could say.
I'm having the fire expert in the area look at it on thursday. Wish me luck. I'll keep you guys posted on the developments. Thanks
