Have Black and Decker 18V drilll driver. Came in a case with charger and 2 batteries. Any time I use it just plug in the charger and extra battery. The 1st battery usual lasts just long enough the 2nd one is charged and visa versa. No Problems.

Got some kind of set as a gift in canvas bags of 9 Dewalt 18v tools with 2 batts and charger. Would never have bought for myself. Rarely use them and not for very long when I do, but have all worked fine.

Only thing I have left that is corded hand tool wise is an 8in circular saw.

My projects have been so few and far between that I used to go buy the tool I nneded, then retruned it when done.
