When I lived in Jax decades ago, we had lots of gators 4-6' long in all the unfenced apt holding ponds....no turtles, dawgs, cats, or kids

. They'd relocate them when they got bigger...
Used to see lots of 'em fishing the lakes and rivers, but nothing like one time in the Okefenokee swamp.....me and my buddy Bob in a smaller john boat....and literally hundreds, if not thousands of gators....BIG azz gators...and us in a boat no longer than some of 'em. I think I saw them licking their lips...
