Not true. I have a seen several tools kits from 930 turbos and 911's up to '79-'80 with a sombination of "Drop Forged" and "Selected special steel.
As a matter of fact my '79 that has 4,000 original miles and the tool kit wrenches have "Drop Forged Wrenches" and "Selected Special Steel".
Below is a conversation on another forum about this topic regarding tool kits from a '79 turbo:
Looks mostly correct. The exception would be the adjustable wrench. The belt is also a replacement. Pliers should be Hapewe and the 5 wrenches should either say drop forged or selected special steel or a combination of both.
Some tool kits in '79 had the two red tags. I have also seen a red and yellow tag or a single blue tag or single red tag. I have also seen brown tool kit bags for '79.

Good eye...I thought the same thing about the 'adjustable wrench' (it said 'China' on it, knew it was wrong,

). Looked around, have the hapewe pliers and subbed that item out with the wrench. Other wrenches are correct, and interestingly are a combination of what you spoke of. The largest is different than the other 4. Thanks, how does this look now? Allen wrench is blocked behind the spare belt, but there.
