Smile catalytic converter

Presently, the exhaust set up on my 87 Carrera consists of a 100 cell catalytic converter mated with a 1 in 1 out Monty free flow muffler.
Recently I added Sal Carceller MAF kit and the car runs great! sound is sporty, AIR/FUEL readouts are good BUT exhaust smells burnt fuel smell especially on idle.
I thoroughly researched The various CAT offerings and bought a 300 CPI UNIVERSAL "VIBRANT" 7525 catalytic converter utilizing SS substrate. (Please read the product details if interested to know more vibrantperformance.com)
" Vibrant Performance and Global Emissions Systems Inc. (GESI) have teamed up to supply a series of OBD2 high flow Catalytic Converters that provide peace of mind and reliability under extreme conditions while providing highly effective long term emission control solutions. "
Does anyone has experience with this particular CAT? specifically with elimination of the smell!
If not, if you switched in the past from a 100 cell or a Pre muffler to a 300 cell, such as offered by FABSPEED, how effective was the elimination of smell?

ALSO...What sound can I expect to have from a 300 cell CAT?
