Well a 50AE will have slightly more energy than the .44 Magnum, but when you talk big bore semi autos vs big bore wheels the 460 and 500 Magnum (just as an example) rounds have significantly more energy, unless it is a 44 Automag which will take a head clean off. Or so I have heard on TV somewhere.
You do generally have more rounds available in a semi-auto and really, who wants to dual wield a 500 Mag?
