I also built models when I was a kid.....many many years ago! But stopped as a teen because building models was kid stuff! I realized in my 30s that I really enjoyed building model cars and after majoring in architectural drafting, I wanted to try scratch building garages and barns etc. The first ones were pretty basic and the next ones got a little better.
Not sure that I've mastered anything though....I still screw up and learn something new every build!
