For what its worth, I had a catback from Vibrant on my 2001 Ford Focus. Very well constructed unit, and the sound was very nice. Not overly loud, but a nice deep tone. They seem to know what they're doing, so that might be the way to go for a new cat.
I was hoping to avoid the Civic with coffee can exhaust sound, and they did not disappoint.
