That seems like a well thought out scam. Maybe putting water marks on all photos with your phone number when selling might help prevent that. But these scammers seem to get better and better with their scams. As we have all posted here a million times do not buy a car sight unseen, or ask a fellow forum member to see the car if it is local to them most are always willing to help. This thread is a perfect example of trusting instincts and asking questions. He asked if anyone know the car and got an instant reply. Looks like DC saved Voda from making a terrible mistake.
