Friends are a poor choice on your part. HOWEVER to address this, when something is private in nature we are all explicit with each other and tag it as being 'in the vault'. Rest assured if someone were to spill vault material after being tagged as such, or be deceptive with what they want vaulted they are soon no longer a friend. Conversely if someone spills what should have been in the vault but wasn't known to be declared, oh well. Simple, easy, breezy.
In BUSINESS, we take similar measures. Making things confidential, or non-disclosure for example.
When declared as such one does not violate, UNLESS there is something deceptive or dishonest going on. IF business is not declared as such, the expectation is that it is PUBLIC. Simple, easy, breezy.
