Actually, I don't recall a discussion on my part where friends AND business are mixed. In any event
I went the additional step to mention each exclusively so as to demonstrate the SOP for each. Now in the situation where the two overlap it is safe to presume one uses either method discussed. It is situationally dependent and also influenced as to what level of friend, what level of business associate.
