i'm using my cheapass chinese made wok burner almost daily. i meticulously unhook it and bring it into the garage daily. the top part still started to rust. it is surface rusted..i wired brushed it, and wiped it down with a alcohol. (which oddly made it rust more).
the thing is CAST IRON! i paid less than $100 for it, i am not gonna send it to a powdercoater
the main body is okay. i just picked up some high heat BBQ paint. put down a light misting layer. is this even gonna work? i imagined turning my burner a fire-engine red with some flames..but no. i went utilitarian satin black. the ACE hardware guy said the black is the most robust. dunno?
