Took oatmeal to work everyday (Quaker Oats (not that instant crap) almonds, craisens) for breakfast. Tasted great and was filling, but was very hungry a few hours later and had very low energy when I went running at lunch. Ate after.
Just read two days ago in the book FOOD by Mark Hyman, M.D. that oatmeal places havoc on blood sugar by causing a massive insulin reaction followed by a crash in blood sugar level. That explains why most runs sucked. When you are massively hungry, then you tend to over eat at your next meal.
