Thin stainless, heck yes. I just cut a bunch of 5 inch holes in sheet stainless ( I cut up commercial countertops ) I just used a jig saw, with metal blades. It did not take as long as you would think, but ate up some blades. I dressed the edges with a grinder, worked really well. I think I cut 6 5 inch holes in an evening
