Is this too tough to do?
My 76 has been popping out of first gear and I have
just about eliminated all of the easy fixes.
Linkage adjusted, checked motor and transmission mounts
and I will change out the shift bushings.
Someone suggested that it could be the dogtooth and slider
inside the tranny.
I've read all the info on all the boards that I could find plus the
Haynes manual and the workshop manual. It doesn't look TOO
hard.
My question is, Given my level of mechanical knowledge (learn as
the car breaks) Is changing out the slider and 1st gear dogtooth gear too much for a novice to attempt on his own?
Your thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated
