I agree that a clean '73 1.7 would get $15-$20K no problem. It's 2018. I never saw that many in 1985. I probably saw 30-40 back in Connecticut when I was driving age. Even then a 2.0 was getting strong money. I knew I guy that bought a clean 2.0 for $7K in 1986. I don't know what book value places them at, but if the longitudinals and floors are nice, and it has nice mechanicals then why not? I'd be happy to have one. I would welcome the Type IV engine right now.
