And here I thought that man landed on the moon in July of '69 and that RFK was shot on June 5th of '68, (though he did die the next day on June 6th).
Pretty sure that June 5th was the assassination date, at least from what I've always read. The LA Times had quite a bit of archival reporting and the Ambassador Hotel, now a giant public school, is less than a mile from me. I ride or drive past it almost daily.
I wish that the actual hotel was still there. I understand that the RE is too valuable to have preserved it for historical reasons but I like old buildings and historical sites. That was truly a case of one bullet changing history, RFK would have been president from 1968-'76.
