Yes, you can pry back the detents and unscrew the top caps. This will allow you to remove the insert guts. There is a plastic guide that holds a detent ball that should give you the "clicks" of adjustement. Some of the older Konis just had 2.5 turns from full hard to soft. There should be a stop after these turns.
You will have to replace the shock oil and most likely the top gland nut o-ring seal. I had to heat mine to get the top gland nut to release and this damaged the o-ring.
