Captain of British Man-o-war hears from the crow's nest:
"Sir, a French Frigate on the horizon."
"Gentlemen, beat to quarters and send for my red shirt."
A midshipman asks the Captain why he wears a red shirt.
"So that if I'm wounded in battle, it won't show. This keeps the moral up during the fight."
"Captain, Captain. Three French Frigates are on the Horizon".
The Captain looks at the Midshipman and says: "Go below and fetch my brown pants too."
