Maf problems
1997 Boxster Tip.
NHP headers cold air intake,
accelerated in 1st gear to redline,
tip shifted to 2nd and engine stopped.
would not start
after towing car home it started when I wanted to back off tow truck. 2 hours
codes showed MAF short and tip load signal (Durametric)
replaced MAF
everything good
6 months 1500 miles later MAF failure.
replaced MAF, bought expensive Porsche MAF from dealer.
6 months later MAF failure.
I have rung out the wiring from MAF to DME no shorts and good continuity to correct pins.
Can a bad component fry the MAF?
