Andre,
You know that I'm from NJ, but don't hold that against me!
Your best bet is to join your local Porsche Club of America. It's about $30 a year to join, but it is very beneficial. Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with PCA is any way, except that I am active member in my region.

Here's some information on local clubs for you to look into:

Porsche Club of America (PCA): www.pca.org and try these regions:

Connecticut Valley Region: http://www.cvrpca.org/cvrfhome.htm
I found about 14 944/968 owners there.
They run autox at Smith & Wesson (??) in MA, I believe. Plus they have DE programs, rallies and socials.

Hudson Champlian Region: (Mostyly NY and Berkshire county, MA):
http://vista.pca.org/hcp

Northeast Region:
http://www.porschenet.com/
They cover all of MA except for Berkshire, Hampden, and Hampshire. I also found a dozen or so 944 owners in this region.

North Jersey Region:I don't know if it is still open, but my region (PCA-NNJR) is doing a DE event at Lime Rock Park in CT:
http://vista.pca.org//nnj/track.html

Also, try other sports car clubs:

NE SCCA club: www.ner.org. They do autocross events in Ayer, MA, Loudon, NH, and I think Rome NY and Horseneck beach. Not sure how many Porsches show up for the event, but there's always at least one!

NASA (National autosport association):
NASA NE: http://smpsystems.com/nasa/ (Mostly NY & NJ)

Check out the auto club links at Perry's autox website:
http://www.autox4u.com/autolink.htm

Hope this all helps you find some fellow 944 owners! Good luck!
-Zoltan.
