They are small and devious enough to defeat the cover. Probably in the middle where it folds. It’s backed into a corner so I cannot snap it 100% tight but never had any issues in years. A barrier sounds good but nobody sells giant eleastic mesh - thinking chemicals around the tub. I googled it and none of the folklore stuff works apparently.
