I think alot of people are just enjoying these cars as classics and getting thier HP fixes in other places.

I literally bought my 87 that is turbocharged when it was around 500hp because it was so powerful with just a turbo added (and lowered CR of course).
It was making V8 power from the '90's.
Nowadays, bone stock V8's are making near 500hp, and with boost are eclipsing 1000hp.
