The six cell battery in that picture as I owned with 3200MAH+ high density cells is about one pound on its own.
Prepped and lightened I was 9.5lb's with my monster truck. Same chassis, same class, the piston powered were about 8lb's. Now Lithium Polymer has come into play since then; which is not what is pictured in that article!!
What I enjoyed most about my Electric vs Nitro is the quiet, I could run the car in public places without providing a noise problem.
