Prepped and lightened I was 9.5lb's with my monster truck. Same chassis, same class, the piston powered were about 8lb's. Now Lithium Polymer has come into play since then; which is not what is pictured in that article!!
What I enjoyed most about my Electric vs Nitro is the quiet, I could run the car in public places without providing a noise problem.

That pack looks more like a 1500MaH but I could be wrong. The article is so full of BS you could fertilize 40 acres with it. Yes, the Radio Shack RC buggies are brushed, but the better cars you actually race have been brushless for years. The chassis could be had in anodized aluminum since the 80s for sure.
