Like I said, it has a purpose, and that purpose is not be day to day lived in but for special occasions. It shouldn't take a study to see that, all it takes is the reason it is there in the first place.

I mean, it is like holding a study on carrot harvesting machines to find they only get used for the part of the year when carrots are harvested.

I think you have a good awareness of the situation, but fail to see that many others do not share the same awareness.
I say that a study helps convince people that they don't need rooms they are not using is useful.
People in general lack such awareness and need help in separating out the wants from the needs.
You can have that Jag and minivan combination, or drive a really posh performance SUV, life is full of choices.
