I had an automatic 1987 n/a for a very long time and never, ever had to remove those "transmission"
cooling lines.
However, with that said, the torque is not the same for those bolts it is lower. If I remember correctly they are M6 bolts correct?
Should be about 7.5 ft lbs M6, for the transmission lines clamps holding them. The heater pipe M8 are about 15 ft lbs.
