Plus the doors are in the middle of the car. While removing overall weight will help on acceleration and deceleration. It's more important to remove the weight from the ends of the car. The car rotates around the center and the weight in the middle has less affect than the weight past the tires when trying to change directions.

Kind of what I was getting at. 2200 = faster, but 2400 would be 99% the same and a lot less annoying on longer drives and trips.
