I had an F800GT for a while. What a great bike. First BMW I owned I didn't feel I needed to upgrade suspension, exhaust, yadda yadda. And it railed through the turns.
Compared it to riding a shaftie BMW? Huge.
One thing I learned riding airheads in those 'early years' was how to get aggressively (or not) through hard braking (or not) turns was to use the rear brake and the front together which helps settle the suspension and the driveline jacking.
I still use the same technique today at times, though the new BMW has the linked front-to-rear barking, along with all the other bells, leaning ABS, traction control, etc.
I feel pretty relaxed (and safe) these days...
