to be fair, what i asked for was experience.
i understand that cars that go too far down the rabbit hole get driven less frequently than more moderately modified cars. i have not yet reached the point of building too many cars. i still think it's fun to try things out to see if it will work. but as doors are rather spendy to replace and are fairly critical to roadworthiness, i wanted to see if the crowd had attempted what i was considering before breaking out any tools.
perhaps the two quotes of yours above were interpreted incorrectly. i read them as being rather scolding and am trying to not be offended. the community here on Pelican is, and has been, very supportive and i was not expecting such condescending responses. but i could be wrong.
