I have Swiss Cheesed doors on a a friends bracket Mustang years ago. But he wasn't planing on using glass windows and regulators. I can't think of a single car with lightened doors that had working regulators and glass windows.
IMO the door you posted would not support the weight without cracking. You could remove some metal and save a pound or two. But not that much. Again; IMO because I have not seen it done yet.
